16. The Power of Aligning to your Cycle

This is Foundational to our wellness as women. For me to go start a wellness series and not speak about this would be ridiculous!
a. Why is it important?
I. When we are not connected to our Cycle we:
1. Struggle and push our way through life, because we’re not rooted in our being. We don’t even know it, it’s simply what happens. If we’re not honoring the 4 different phases of our cycle, chances are, our mental & emotional bodies are off balance, or become off balance, at some point during our cycle
2. Our hormones are not balanced because we don’t know how to eat properly for each phase to sustain our body emotionally, energetically and physically.
3. I used to be one of those who ate the same thing every day because it was my diet. But I experienced serious ups and downs in energy, weight and mood. It was really unhealthy and I had no idea I was living it. I thought it was normal!!
Come to find out, I was not honoring my body! I was not eating according to each season. How could my body support what I needed to do every day if I wasn’t giving it what it needed!
4. I have found this to be most important as my responsibilities and daily routines have demanded more of me. Nutrition is KEY and is regulated by our Hormones! If we’re not paying attention to our cycle and understanding how our bodies are changing on a day-to-day basis, how could we ever fall in love with ourselves? Our body won’t function right and we won’t be able to love it!
ii. We don’t know how to pay attention to our body. We don’t know how to communicate in the language it does with us. We weren’t taught that, so how could we expect otherwise? What I’m speaking about today will teach you how to communicate and listen to what your body is telling you, daily.
iii. Since the rise of the Feminine, this information is spreading like wild-fire, and I love it!! But there are still so many women who are completely unaware of what it all means. So today, we’re going to break it down.
2. The 4 phases of our Menstrual Cycle are as follows:
a. Our body lives through 4 phases each month. These phases are governed by hormones which basically regulate our emotional and physical abilities. There is a huge issue in today’s world with hormone disruption because of all the toxins and chemicals in the air, food, water and birth control pills. This takes a toll on our bodies and affects our menstrual cycle
b. Keep in mind, I will speak of the phases as experience for a woman living a natural cycle. If you are on Birth Control you may not be feeling or be able to connect to these phases because your pill is artificially regulating your hormones daily, not allowing you to experience this.
3. Let’s break down what the Four Menstrual Cycle Phases are, what to expect in each and what happens when you don’t align with them.
a. Winter
i. what to expect: All hormones are low, it’s a time to go inside
ii. what happens when you’re not aligned: crampy, moody, annoyed, frustrated
b. Spring
i. what to expect: seed is growing metaphor, creativity rising, energy is rising
ii. what happens when you’re not aligned: easily can be overworked and experience early burn-out because you’re not aware of how to handle the growing energy, taking it at FULL gear when you should just be gearing up.
c. Summer
i. what to expect: Energy peak – fully out there
ii. what happens when you’re not aligned: can certainly overwork yourself or not arrive in your full magnitude, because you’ve overworked yourself in the past. – This is typical with workouts and work. We start pushing towards stronger workouts in Spring, not realizing the best time to do them is in Summer. When we get to Summer, we feel exhausted, fatigued, over whelmed. Our body doesn’t have the hormones to sustain it.
d. Fall
i. what to expect: dimming down, review and closure, getting ready to hibernate
ii. what happens when you’re not aligned: PMS, irrational, emotionally unstable, anything can throw you off or be taken as hard to handle.

Understanding your Cervical Mucous is also very important and a KEY health Sign on your journey to communicating with your body. I talk all about this in the Natural Birth Control Course called Activate Womb Wisdom, but basically, the texture of your cervical mucous will tell you how you’re doing, how your hormones are and whether you are fertile or not.
The more liquidey, the more fertile and healthy.
The more dry, the less fertile and healthy.
(During Ovulation that is)
Extreme dryness in that case could be a sign of prescription Birth control, extreme stress or other hormone disrupting lifestyle choices.
Not only is it a fertility sign, it also tells you how your body is reacting to your current life circumstances.
It never fails:
When I have more work, more stress, less sleep, difficult situations to deal with, my energy body takes a toll and automatically by body reacts. Sometimes, I don’t even realize that I’m under the weather energetically until it’s time to look at my charts and realize, wow, my hormones aren’t stable. What’s been off lately?
It’s bizarre and Beautiful! I feel like a scientist in the Jurassic Park Movie! Intrigued and fascinated with every discovery I make about myself!
